Polk County Visitor Center to Host Fall Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 25
Davenport, FL (October 10, 2014) — Polk County’s official visitor information center, Polk Outpost 27, will host a Fall Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 25. This FREE, family-friendly event will take place from 10 am until 3 pm, including a pumpkin carving & painting contest, candy, games, prize giveaways, a pumpkin patch, a bounce house for kids, a magic show at noon and a free movie in the theatre at 10 am and 1 pm. Costumes are welcome. The Bloodmobile will be on site for donors, and booths by LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, Bok Tower Gardens, Davidson of Dundee and more are expected. Food will be available for purchase from local vendors. Attendees will receive one free LEGOLAND® Florida Resort or Bok Tower Gardens ticket for each one (of the same) purchased at Polk Outpost 27 on the day of the event.
Prizes for the Pumpkin Carving/Painting Contest will be awarded at 3:00 p.m. to conclude the event. Note: Entries for the contest must be submitted in advance of the event and will be accepted all day on Thursday and Friday, October 24 & 25, and from 8 to 9:30 am on the morning of the festival. Entries will compete in three age groups: 3 to 9 years old, 10 to 15 years old, and 16 years to adult.
Attendees who bring a non-perishable food item for donation to local food banks will be entered for a chance to win a grand prize drawing at 3:00 p.m. (Limit, one entry per person).
Polk Outpost 27 offers discounted attraction tickets for many Central Florida attractions, including LEGOLAND® Florida. The visitor information center is open from 8 am to 5 pm, seven days a week (excluding holidays), and is located at 101 Adventure Court in Davenport, 1/2 mile south of I-4 (along U.S. Highway 27) at Exit 55.
